This week's doings

Biggest news: Daniel finally cut his first tooth this week. It has been a long, fussy process but it looks as though he'll have at least two or perhaps three by this time next week. Hopefully even bigger news: Philip is working frantically to finish the Reader's Hebrew Bible for Zondervan tonight. The deadline is tomorrow. This is been a huge 2 1/2 year project that BOTH of us will be glad when it's done. He was quoting Psalm 34:1 just a minute ago which isn't a good sign :o)

Let's see: Did two birthday cakes - one Thomas the train and another baseball theme. The top of the baseball is actually a molded candy plaque. Allan received this wonderful ensemble from Grandma Slagenweit. Today the boots arrived and so he wanted his picture taken. He wore the boots the rest of the day! Side note - when I went to Bob Jones University in 1999, I wanted to be prepared for the rain they so often get. Not wanting to loose umpteen umbrellas to mistaken identity I decided to be different (or a total moron) and purchased a frog umbrella just like this one except adult size. I never did loose my umbrella by the way!

LOVE, LOVE, Love the THomas cake...sooo cute. Also I love the new rainy weather outfit. Maybe that will get us some rain around here! Michael's been begging for rain boots ever since we saw them in Target in the spring...so I've decided next time I see them, we won't pass them up. They are SO cute and kids are little just once. Hope we get some rain for Alan to enjoy!...looks like he's well prepared.

Thanks to your father-in-law's teaching at college, Psalm 34:1 was the first thing that popped out of my mouth when a small child knocked my entire lunch out of my hand and onto the classroom floor the other day. I work in a public school so I got astonished looks when Scripture came out of my mouth instead of what may have been expected. LOL

Great cakes! I'm duly impressed. Also love the pic of Allan. I can imagine he is very proud of the ensemble. It's a great look!

Kayla got to wear her polkadot watermelon rainboots to Kindergarten for the first time this morning. What fun. That's one of the things I love about being a parent - you get to be a kid again. I think if I had some polkadot watermelon rainboots I'd wear them today around town....

Nancy - I've about given up on rain! It's October and 92 degrees?!
Valerie - Good to hear from you! Frog umbrella doesn't seem to match my personality does it?
Aimee - WOW! Good to have you drop by and see where you are! Psalm 34:1 is one that I have to work on constantly. Glad you're able to be a witness in the public school system. Blessings on you!
Sonja - Thanks. He is pretty proud and did manage to make it over to the cafeteria the other day with his boots on before I realized it.
Sarah - I must e-mail you but I don't seem to have an address. I can be reached at mariannebrown@apbrown2.net
Dorcas - you're welcome - I'm glad he liked it!
Crystal - Good to hear from you! Took a look at your cake and it looks great! Did you have a pan shaped like that or did you have to carve it? After awhile all those stars get to you don't they?! :o)

Marianne, I attended HSBC when Dr. Brown was there. My husband and I have just moved back about 4 years ago to put our daughters through the school. I'm curious if you are Jay Slagenweits sister? Any how, it has been a long time since I have seen the Brown boys. They have followed after their father which is awesome. I have enjoyed your blog and pic's. I will add you to my reader and you are welcome to visit my page. God bless.

Marianne, I had a good laugh thinking about you walking around with that umbrella! It's very cute on Alan, but I'm not sure about...:)
