Baking extravaganza

I looked up the word extravaganza and M-W.com says this:
Definition of EXTRAVAGANZA
1 a literary or musical work marked by extreme freedom of style and structure and usually by elements of burlesque or parody
2 a lavish or spectacular show or event
3 something extravagant
So actually - the word doesn't fit in this case!

Last week Daniel and I tackled the holiday baking and I've decided today that I'm DONE! The pinwheels and peanut butter blossoms will have to happen next Christmas (though I'm not sure what to do with all of the Hershy kisses!)

Peanut butter cups - 3 dozen

Raisin filled - 4 dozen

Cream cheese cutouts - too many to count

Biscotti - 2 dozen

Fudge - 2 lbs (actually 4 lbs but the first 2 didn't turn out - if you like creamy fudge that is - if you like crunchy fudge it's perfect!)

Pecan tassies - 5 1/2 dozen

So that's our holiday baking attempts. Our plans are to make trays for all of our neighbors. We also give them a card with a tract containing the message of Christmas and the plan of salvation. Our plan is to hand those out next Tuesday evening.

Wow! You have been busy. Sounds like an extravaganza to me. We'll add our own definition. :-) I haven't started baking but have my ideas of what I want to do. I did do some peppermint bark and a trial run of chocolte covered pretzel wreaths that I plan to make for gifts. We really don't need it but it doesn't seem like Christmas without a few goodies around.
