The finished product......whew......! Every cake decorator has a "Disaster Story" and I think this cake about takes the title but in the end it was redeemable.
Hey Sis, The cake was absolutely beautiful! You do such an awesome job! Talk to you later this week. Give the boys a hug and kiss for me! Love ya, Jennifer
I was at the wedding on Saturday and everyone was quite impressed with the cake, including my husband who does not usually notice things like cakes. I think it is the most beautiful wedding cake I have very seen.
Charity: It was for Joe Krohn (dad Brown's old PA and Clarissa Atchley Renae: No baby yet? Jen: Thanks Liz: Thanks for the nice comments. Martha: make sure you read my rest of the story - that's not icing worth eating!
The cake turned out GREAT!!! Sorry for all of the BOTHER, wasted icing that tasted like gas, etc. Glad that you have figured out why the strange taste! Bless your heart! But, the cake was beautiful, and all's well that ends well, right?! =)
Love, Heather You mentioned that maybe you might not be able to make Butter cream icing if you lived here (I'm assuming that you were thinking it was hotter here)....so I tried it. And...I was able to make butter cream frosting for a cake the other day, but I substituted butter for the crisco, since I haven't found that here. With us being 9,000 ft. above sea level, it's actually chilly here in our city, and my icing turned out great! I was happy! =)
Heather, I didn't realize that you were at that elevation and did think it would be fairly warm. Glad your frosting turned out fine. Thank Phillip for wishing Philip a happy Father's day. I did pass the message along. He's SO BUSY trying to get this book done for Zondervan. Last I checked he'd logged over 750 hours thus far. The last 100 he's been glossing which is tedious work. He hopes to finish that the first of next week and then he has to typeset the book. He's not the only one who will be glad when this is over! :o)

Speechless and craving icing! :-)
(Pardon my typos in former post. Pregnant, nauseated women should always proof-read their comments. Ha.)
