A Bit of Background

Over the past two weeks I've sat down on several occasions to try to put into words what happened in our family over the summer. I discovered it may be a while before I can get the account put together. There are still memories that are too fresh and painful. When God allows the refining fire to purify our commitment and faith in Him, it doesn't make the process any less severe. Because of our humanness and frailties we feel the fire very keenly and only time can take the edge off of the pain of the experience. But on the other side of this tapestry of our lives, there is a beautiful picture of a loving and merciful God who has shown us Himself and has given grace to be able to walk with Him. More than ever I've realized the reality of a God who is consumed in doing what is good for us. But I have to allow Him to determine the definition of "good". So....until I can finish the post .... you may want to listen to a short synopsis of our story that Philip shared in chapel. You can listen here or paste this into your browser

Thank you for your post. I have been wondering how your little family was doing. I listened to the link you gave of your husbands message. I want you to know that the lessons learned in your family was just the message that I needed for mine. God is enough!
